Best Sky Bars In Bangkok

Live the high life, literally, when you visit one of the many sky bars in Bangkok. The ultimate destinations for a chic and classy night out, and let’s not forget those unforgettable views, rooftop bars can be found all over the city. For many visitors, the higher the bars are, the better, though don’t write-off those that are on lower buildings, they can be just as good when it comes to ambiance and the quality of drinks and cocktails. And remember, these are classy places so dress to impress – no sleeveless shirts for men, no sandals, and no shorts, and torn looking jeans might get you refused entry as well.So if you’re looking for the best sky bar in Bangkok, read on as we have the Top 10 Sky Bars in Bangkok.

barone

The Roof Top Bar, Baiyoke Sky Hotel:-Our number ten entry is actually the highest sky bar in Bangkok situated on the 83rd floor of the Baiyoke Sky Hotel. It would have ranked higher on our list if it was genuinely a rooftop bar but the bar itself is down one level from the roof. Even so, once you’ve grabbed a drink you can head up another floor and hang out at the revolving observation deck with gazebo. The best thing about The Roof Top Bar is the views, and from all the way up on the 83rd or 84th floor they are of course spectacular. Depending on the time you arrive you may be asked to pay an admission fee but this does include your first cocktail.

The Speakeasy, Hotel Muse:-While The Speakeasy is not situated on an impressively high floor it has made our list because it offers something a little different and unique to other sky bars in Bangkok. Themed on the 1920’s Prohibition era, The Speakeasy is fun and funky with nice touches like cocktails in jam jars and a cocktail menu that nods toward the vintage and classic drinks as well as more modern concoctions. With jazz music playing in the background this really is a swinging place to spend an evening, starting with a meal in their restaurant area.

bar2

Zoom Sky Bar at Anantara Sathorn:-Set on the 40th floor of the Anantara Sathorn Hotel, Zoom Sky Bar and Restaurant covers the entire roof of the hotel giving ample space to stretch out and enjoy the cocktails. If you’re planning to dine first the restaurant serves a cosmopolitan menu of modern French with an Asian twist or you can just select a few options from their light bites menu. Also, unusually for Bangkok, they do serve nibbles with the cocktails and if you come before 8pm you’ll be able to enjoy plenty of great value happy hour cocktails. The biggest thing you’ll come for is the views – because the bar covers the entire roof you can walk to all corners for a 360 degree uninterrupted city view, including the sunset. Mellow music plays in the background for an enjoyable evening.

Blue Sky, Centara Grand Lad Prao:-The 24th floor location of Blue Sky may have you thinking the views wouldn’t be so great, but think again. Located north of Bangkok centre the Grand Lad Prao Hotel is not surrounded by high-rises so it actually offers a fabulous, uninterrupted view of the big city lights of downtown Bangkok, just a short distance away, while below are the leafy vistas of Chatuchak Park. Blue Sky also features a restaurant serving French-inspired contemporary cuisine which, though on the pricey side, is of a fabulous quality.

bar4

Zense Gourmet Deck & Lounge, Centralworld:-The nice thing about Zense is that it’s an unexpected surprise! Most of the sky bars in Bangkok are located on top of hotels but Zense is on the 17th floor of Bangkok’s vast shopping complex, CentralWorld. Despite not being really high up the restaurant and bar have beautiful views over the river and the horseracing track and the whole place has a chic vibe. There’s lots of space here too so you can find a cozy corner for a romantic evening, or sit back and relax on the beanbags with friends.

Cloud 47 Rooftop Bar and Bistro:-Cloud 47 is also a pleasant surprise compared to many of the other sky bars in Bangkok. The location can’t be beaten, right in the centre of Silom Road and just past the Patpong Night Market, it’s a 5 minutes walk from Sala Daeng BTS station. Situated on the roof of the United Center office tower this place still offers the glamour of a Bangkok sky bar without the elevated prices to go with it – drinks are very affordable here, considering you usually pay more for the views. Also no dress code required. As the name suggests, Cloud 47 is on the 47th floor and the views are great but reserve your table if you want to guarantee the best spots in the house.

bar3

Octave Rooftop Bar, Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit:-The amazing 360 degree views from this Bangkok sky bar is one of the top selling points yet because the hotel is not right on the main tourist drag you can enjoy the views in relative peace and quiet, without having to battle for a table or a seat. This is also helped by the fact that Octave Rooftop Bar is set over three floors at the top of the hotel and that the designers made sure there was a substantial selection of seating that would be able to enjoy those breathtaking views. With three floors to choose from you can select which one best suits your mood, from the lounge atmosphere on the first level, perfect for dinner, to the DJ chillout tunes on the floor above.

Sky Bar, the Dome at Lebua State Tower:-This has to be the most famous sky bar in Bangkok though the drawback to fame is the inevitable crowds. Sky Bar by Lebua is a fabulous place, there’s no doubting it, and if you’re a fan of The Hangover movies this will be the place you want to visit for a night out, but expect it to be busy. The buzzing vibe may be just what you’re looking for, and when combined with the amazing views from the 63rd floor you can see why the location scouts for the popular Hollywood movie picked this place above all others. Look out over the river and the city as the sun sets over Bangkok.

Park Society, Sofitel So:-The bar and restaurant of Park Society stands out among all the many other sky bars in Bangkok because its views are different to the norm. Set on the 29th floor of Sofitel So, this rooftop bar has a beautiful view over the greenery and lakes of Lumphini Park and beyond to the skyscraping skyline of Siam and Silom offering the perfect combination of a nature versus man vista! The best time to enjoy these views is around sunset as the sun goes down and you’ll get to see the park and the changing light of the city, making this destination perfect for romantic evenings.

bar5

Vertigo and Moon Bar, Banyan Tree Hotel:-Our number one best sky bar in Bangkok is the Vertigo and Moon Bar! Set up on the 61st floor of the Banyan Tree Hotel this is one of the highest sky bars in the city, and as the name suggests it’s probably not the ideal place to bring someone who doesn’t like heights! But, if you’re ok with the heights you’re in for an amazing night out enjoying the beautiful views over the city and the winding river. The views aren’t too dissimilar to Sky Bar at Lebua and despite the fact that this place doesn’t have a Hollywood accolade it makes number one on our list because it’s quieter and more relaxed than Sky Bar. Here you actually have the chance to sit and enjoy the views while relaxing over a cocktail whereas there you’ll be competing for elbow room. Vertigo restaurant is at one end of this completely open rooftop venue and the Moon Bar is at the other, connected together via an open-air bridge, this place really is everything what you would expect from a sky bar in Bangkok.
