Honeymoon Destination In Thailand

Thailand is a great honeymoon destination. The only problem most newlyweds would really have is choosing a place from among many wonderful possibilities: big cities, deserted beaches, busy beaches, mountain retreats, animal sanctuaries, shopping and sports venues, and so forth. The list goes on. It is recommended that those considering where to go and what to do choose Phuket Island. Here are the reasons to select Phuket Island.

.It is large enough to include almost everything a visitor would like to do and see, and small enough so that a guest can travel around easily and do and see the things they wish to do and see.
.It is easy to reach as it is served by international and national flights, and by roadway and ferry connections.
.It has great beaches. Some of them such as, Patong Beach and Koron Beach, are quite crowded and developed, but the beaches themselves - long, broad and covered with white powdery sand - are still magnificent. Others beaches, especially those in the northwest, such as Mai Khao, Nai Yang, Kamala and Sai Khow beaches, are fairly undeveloped and underused, as are some of those in the south and southeast. There are even two small secluded beaches – Paradise Beach and Emerald Beach - between Patong Beach and Koron Beach.
.Mountains and waterfalls:- Phuket Island is not famous for mountains and waterfalls, but it has them. In fact, on the west side of the Island, the mountains come almost right down to the beaches. In the northwest, one can enjoy the pristine Mai Khao and Nai Yang Beaches – which has a campground - and some adjoining mountains; and in the south one can enjoy the mountains of Khao Phra Thaeo National Park with its Ton Sai and Bang Pea waterfalls, along with \ hiking trails and a variety of wild animals such as deer, gibbons, languors and porcupines.

.Exclusive Resorts:- Not everyone likes or can afford exclusive resorts, but if you do then there are several to choose from on Phuket Island. While they are concentrated in the northeast portion of the Island, around the southern end of Mai Khao Beach, the Laguna complex of Bang Tao Beach and Surin Beach, most of the other beaches on the Island have at least one. Most major international chains, such as Hilton, Novotel, Sheraton, and JW Marriott, are represented on the island along with some equally luxurious Thai establishments. These resorts always have five star international restaurants, nice swimming pools and spas, and frequently have private or semiprivate beaches. Many guests stay in small luxury bungalow or house-style accommodations. These resorts practice a high level of personal service and can help guests arrange a variety of Island activities.
.Lots of Economy Accommodation:- Accommodation on Phuket Island is not rock bottom cheap, but there are lots and lots of relatively inexpensive guest houses and budget hotels to take advantage of. Even around beaches dominated by expensive resorts, one tends to find reasonable accommodation as one walks from the beaches inland.
.Abundant Nightlife:- There is some really rocking and hopping nightlife on Phuket Island, most notably in Patong Beach and Karon Beach. They have enough nightlife, including A Go-Go clubs and beer bars, to last a lifetime. There are, however, also many beaches on the Island which have no appreciable nightlife, excluding seaside restaurants where one can have a quiet meal and a drink. Most of the major resorts provide a “quiet” type of nightlife, with nice indoor bars, and outdoor and poolside parties,

.Many Shopping Opportunities:- Phuket Island is probably NOT the best single shopping destination in Thailand, but there are more than enough shopping opportunities to keep most shoppers busy. All beaches have shopping areas and most have night time and weekend markets. There are two Western style shopping centers on the island. One is The Festival Center, which is located near Phuket town, and is anchored by the world class Central Department Store. It is within walking distance of a Big C and a Tesco superstore. The second is in Patong Beach. Here, one will find Jungceylon, a huge complex of 300 small boutique stores anchored around the world class Robinson Department Store and Tops Supermarket. In addition, many boutique and specialty stores are located in the area. Those who want true luxury and high quality shopping can do it at the Canal Village center near the Laguna Complex and the Turtle Village near the resorts of Mai Khao Beach.
.A “real” city:- for those who find tourist life and culture tiring or shallow, one can visit Phuket Town. It is a comfortable, relaxing place with an interesting style of architecture, good restaurants, nice hotels, hospitals, and stores, including the Festival Center. It does not, however, have a loud nightlife or a busy beach. It is a fairly large place where one can just be an “ordinary” person.
.Golfer’s Heaven: Phuket Island is a golfer’s paradise. There are around seven full scale, regulation golf courses on the Island, all professionally designed. These courses are located in the hills and mountains overlooking Phuket’s beaches, which help make the golfing experience truly exhilarating. The courses are worth visiting even if one does NOT like golf!! They are open to the public and fees are extremely reasonable.

.Water Sports Paradise:- water activities are available around most of the Island. Jet Ski, Windsurfing, and snorkeling equipment can be easily rented. During certain times of the year – June through October - it is actually possible to surf at many locations on the Island. Those who like to or want to scuba dive will find many opportunities. Equipment can be rented readily, it is easy to charter boats through the various dive companies, and those needing certification can obtain it fast and at a reasonable price. There are several areas and islands off of Phuket recognized as good dive sites. For those who are interested in boating, there are several marinas on the Island, Those who might like to rent a boat can adventure to one of the several islands near Phuket.
